 Norma Bastidas
Norma Bastidas is single mom on a mission. This inspiring single parent is about to embark on a grueling, record setting journey in support of Operation Eyesight Universal. In 2007, with only a half marathon and a full marathon under her belt, Norma registered to run her first ultra in support of the Canadian National Institute of the Blind. The race was a gruelling 125 km trek after suffering from hypothermia Norma was unable to complete the race. In April 2008, she ran Boston Marathon with a finishing time of 3:28:40. Norma also won top female and 2nd overall at the Alberta Ultra Series in 2008 and completed Sahara race October 2008 placing 5th female and first in her age group.
Now, under the guidance of world famous Ultrarunner Ray Zahab, Norma will embark in a quest that will take her to all 7 continents as an ambassador for the blind and the visually impaired. |
